Live-Edge Wall System
The Live-Edge Wall System is a modular softwood shelving system designed to transform an entire room. Each piece highlights the natural edges of the wood and can be combined to create shelving, feature walls, or full-room layouts.
The installation shown here was designed as a vertical climbing environment for cats, demonstrating the system’s strength, flexibility, and flow. The same components can be configured for display, storage, or architectural wall design in any space.
System Components
Vertical live-edge elements act as visual anchors and structural mounting points. These pieces define the overall layout and allow shelves to be staggered for flow, movement, or display.
Modular shelves can be arranged at varying heights and depths to create storage, display, or movement across the wall. Sizes can be mixed and expanded over time.
This corner unit features a carved, tree-inspired vertical element that anchors the system across two walls. Four live-edge shelves alternate from one wall to the other, creating a balanced, flowing layout.
These long live-edge shelves include a mitered corner section, allowing them to wrap cleanly between two walls. The angled joint creates a continuous line through the corner, making the shelving feel intentional and integrated rather than segmented.
Individual shelves can be added anywhere in the system, making it easy to adjust, expand, or refine the layout as needs change.
